In God we trust; all others must pay cash

This line caught my attention, when i was browsing orkut. It was my fortune on that day. I was just debating on that day, what does that mean. I got my answer very soon. Only have faith in god everything else is useless. As a child, i always believed in god. I was fascinated by the character of Lord Hanuman. Though i never was interested in going to temple, as i believed, god lies in heart of a person. My mom always used to say why the hell you are not going to a temple? I never bothered to answer her. May be no body knew the reason for my behavior. Anyway, believing depends on a person. No body should be forced to have faith on god. I have seen people and my friends, who does not believe in god but are successful in life. I believe the power of almighty helps people who are believer of themselves. That's why they say in god we trust and all others must pay cash.

Pump up yourself

always pump up yourself. never give away hope or never be down with thoughts. If you are down, then you will get unmotivated. i have learned that since last few days. always take everything easily and always look for better options. because dreams give hope and hope is the medicine for better future. Fight hard with adversity and definitely you will be a winner. Life gives you challenges to become a better person. So guys just pump u yourself and brace up yourself for hard and difficult days. At the end , we are going to win and then life becomes sweet and full of enjoyment.

Taare Zameen Par

An awesome movie. Hats off to Amir Khan for introducing such a good movie to bolly wood. This movie takes you back to your childhood. The child actor has acted brilliantly. Amir has given the child protagonist his due. The movie depicts the innocence of childhood and how it is lost now a days in the competitive world. The child's struggle in study and always looking for somebody to understand him is well shown. I would say that movie is the best movie i have seen in years. It has touch my heart. The song which depicts the child's affection towards his mother is also an added point. Always i feel, a child is burdened with expectation of the parent the day he goes to school. Always they want him to be a doctor,engineer and etc. They never ask the child what his wish is. No scope for games and enjoyment. May be due to this the child become adult soon. Is the life of child is to study and score marks. Is there any other meaning of life? Has somebody asked ever a child what his dream is? the innocence of child is lost quickly and he try to win the rat race for life. this movie has shown how this has become a disease and i think that it is a brave attempt. It means bollywood has matured.

New Year @Times Square

What a scene this new year eve was? I went to times square to witness the ball drop. It was totally jam packed with crowd. 1 million people were present in the times square. It was cold but the crowd were excited and it was fun among them. I saw people from all parts of world. The security was really tight and nobody was allowed to carry backpacks and bags. There were a group of Hispanic people and afro-Americans and they were full of energy. I saw a lady in her fifties but she was dancing like a 17 yr old teen. There were three afro-american girls and i was surprised by their energy level. they were dancing till it turned 12 o clock. Sometimes you salute the energy level of them. The cold was nothing for them. Even the hispanic lady was dancing with energy. There were couple of people who pipped through their window to look at the crowd. One guy among them was an entertainer. He danced, spilled rum and beer over the crowd and make them scream. Sometimes you surprised by the energy level these people show. I was just standing there like a statue and enjoying their activities. When the clock reached midnight, you can see the buzz in the crowd. It was so exciting. People were partying hard along the way and drunk like a drunkard. Life seems so enjoying when you are in such a place with friends. I was lucky to have bunch of friends with me on the eve of new year. Life is so beautiful with them. To all of friends, Happy new year 2008. I will remember this new year for a long time...

Money or Career

The famous question always haunts me. Sometimes it sleeps and then returns back. Till now i have got no answer. Life is always threatening with this query. Now as i am running out of time and i have so many decisions to make, i have to find my course of action soon. I never get satisfied with life and never will be . The quest for perfection drives me restless and when i can not solve a issue, i forget all things in life. I do not know how will be able to do that. Life always gives you challenge and makes you learn how to survive. I hope to resolve my ambiguity soon and settle in life...

Killing Cold makes room heaven

NYC city is really cold today. The wind is so chilly, nobody dares to venture out. Life seems like going in to hibernation. Today i had a feast at home. I went for shopping and we shopped a lot. Today menu was speacial. Starting with jhaal mudhi, then pistaa baadam, then semiya, then chole curry . It seems there is no end to menu. Hakka noodle was the lunch menu. It seems i am going to become fat soon. The food my roomies cook is delicious. They never care about timing or amount of food. They are all foodie. They love and live life. I have learned a lot from my roomies. These guys are having a time of life. The cosy bed is calling me and it is time to sleep. The best medicine to energize your self is sleep and boys i love it. After a long week of work and the cold weather, it helps to sleep well. Enjoy the night guys........

Driving in US

It is easy but risky. You need to follow rules. Driving in high way is easy but risky. You can drive fast but if you make a mistake then it is a mess. i drove fast but it was my first time. In the night, i was feeling so sleepy. It is better to have a co-drive, so that you can rest. Also it is better if you have a non-reflecting glass. As my eye wear was normal, the reflections were bad. I could hardly see the road. The rain added salt to my injury. You can not see beyond 20 feet. It cooled down the pace of the traffic. I had to drink coffee to keep myself awake as i was sleeping like hell. I thank god for enabling me to reach home safely. More over it was a learning experience. I came to know about my weak road senses. I need to be more perfect in direction sense. Always there is a room to improve...Enjoy safe driving ............

India Dominates in Eden

Dream come true for Kolkata people. The team is batting superbly. Except kartik, everybody had a blast in Eden and prince of Kolkata got a century. Well done Indian team and i am hoping they will perform same team effort when they went to Australia. That will be memorable for most of us. Well i am sad that Sachin missed the ton and Dravid was given out , when it seemed the light passed between his bat and ball. Never to be disappointed India had scored 600 at a good score. No point to loose and i hope they will dominate the series. Well done team India. Fans like Abhi and Deba will love now the team more....

Saawariya or OSO

Well both seems to be not choice of users But SRK sells in US and UK. OSO is a big hit and Saawariya got good opening. Both have no scripts and Saawariya towel was selling much higher rate than movie tickets. OSO was hot because of SRK and Deepika. Anyway both movies are of different state and both got good opening. Saawariya and OSO has good songs. Saawariya has better songs and it is pleasant to hear. One of my friend said no body knows when Saawariya had first and last show. Not any thing expected from Bhansali. I hoped it will be e bigger movie but he disappointed me. May be it is time time to watch American Gangster.. A master piece of Hollywood ..

Florida-The Sunshine State

In the long weekend, i went to Florida for vacation. Florida is called as the Sunshine State because Sun is always there and you never feel the cold of winter. It was totally different weather compared to NYC. Plenty of spaces and plenty of beaches. I went o Miami beach and i spent two hours in the sea. It felt really refreshing spending time in sea after such a long gap. I always loved water sports and first time it was contact with nature in US. The water was salty and you can lot of beauties in the beach :). The water is not that clean because of sew weeds. Miami downtown looks splendid in the night under the cool rays of moon. Next day i went to key west, which is the south most point of USA. It can be called as Kanyakumari of USA. I did water sports like para sailing and Jet Ski there. I enjoyed both the sports. Jet Ski just like riding motor bike in water and para sailing is also adventurous. There is a huge ship standing in the sea for visit. I have never seen such a long ship in my life. Jet ski was exciting and it took us sometime to learn it but it is worth the money spending.While returning, i ate in Indian restaurant. Now you can find Indian restaurants in each corner of USA. Next day i drove to Orlando for Disney land and Sea world adventure. I drove to Orlando, which is around 4 hours from weston. I stayed in weston with my cousin. First time in my life i ventured out in along trip with me only drving the car. It was exciting but tiring. I drove in highway and enjoyed the drive. I took rest during the journey because i was feeling tired. Sea world is fully fun. It has a show where dolphins show you games. It is breath taking. Also they have a shamu show where whales display their flexibility. As Christmas was near they were playing songs and people were singing in chorus. It is really electrifying atmosphere. The penguins show, sea lion show, under water scuba diving and the shark aquarium are good. I went to hotel and the hotel rates are pretty cheap in Orlando. Next day, i went to Disney land and Disney downtown. I went to Disney water park called Blizar Beach and it had so many games. i played for around 5 hours with my cousin. I returned that night. But the return drive was tiring. I was felling so sleepy that i had to take two breaks and drank coffee for first time in life to woke me for drive. sometimes life gives you challenges and you have to accept them. After drinking that coffee for sometime, i drove smartly and reached home. Most of all Florida trip was enjoyable and tiring. Florida has good roads and infrastructure is good. I loved the weather and while returning it was raining like hell. You can not see anything. You can find a lot of Spanish people in Florida and Americans seems to be in minority. I loved Florida for its beaches and its sunny condition. It is just like going to Kerala or Goa. Breath taking sceneries and Sea beauty relaxes your tired brain and i returned with much energy for my busy next week schedule.....

India Wins home series after 24 years

This seems like pretty long for a home series win. Pakistan always have played well in India. I like the win because Sachin played well and i like him. Also this series have made the team united and they have clicked as a team. The team has been playing with out a coach and they have been performing well. May be the players are maturing. Yuvi has matured for sure and the new players are also have woken up to responsibility. Dhoni has captained well and he plays as usual his dhoom shoots. His hai style is always in news and i like his newer hair style. It is trim and lean. I always prefer cut like Dhoni amd Matt demon. Hair style enhances someones personality. Now a days players are more concerned about their looks and aggressive. Sachin has been a player down to earth and has always performed well. Always expectations are high on him. The one thing still now not in the team is consistency. Like Australia, who hate to loose a single match. I think that is needed in Indian team. Australians are a huge force in terms terms of consistency because they always wants to do better. I respect them for that. They never relax even after winning the series. That sets them different from other teams. India team can win the series in Australia and it will be biggest revenge for them. Australians are aggressive and they love to talk. The best answer is defeat them and they will take notice of you and respect you. That dream is still there and billions of Indians are wishing for that rare series win.

New place New roomies

Finally reached Jersey city. I found a place to live and has got Oriya room mates. First time in my life, i am living with Oriya people. I lived with some Oriya friends before but one guy was not brought up in Orissa and he lives out of Orissa. Now everybody born and brought up and live also in Orissa. I always preferred people from different state because it lets me know their culture. The guys are young and restless like me. But may be i have crossed their stage , where you do not care about others and you talk a lot. It is certain that i have quiet since last few years and got adjusted to live like that. I want privacy more now and believes in more concepts which i was not. When i interact with my new roomies, it gives me memories of my college days. These friends are helping in nature and they are different. They cook well and they have different priorities in life. It has added one advantage. Now when i tell my parents that i am living with my state mates. They are really happy and they are tension free. There are some changes needed in the room and we are going to do it soon. Also Indian grocery and transport is very near. I am missing the gym a lot and i need to find a place soon for it. Always life gives you opportunities and it depends on you , how to utilize it. Well for the time being, i feel like just at home...

NYC City

Well finally i came to the city, which i liked for its people and buildings. This city also brings me to me favorite domain banking and finance. I had been trying since last few months to get hold of Finance concepts. What else can you ask from God. He gave me the hot topic to choose. Investment Banking. It is a great and exiting topic with a great career and money but heavy workload. You always need to be on your toe, as it is a high risk business. You need to understand also the finance and economy of the world, to make the best use of the profits. If you are wrong, investors are going to suffer heavily. I am totally new to this concept and i am hoping that my new project may give some insights in to this concept. NYC city is populated like Mumbai and you live the life jsut like back in India. This city at least tries me to put in to that mode. Sometimes, if you live in other cities, you are in that comfort zone, that you can not live in India. But if you are in NYC, somewhat it negates that. NYC city is full of immigrants. Sometimes i feel, this city has been invaded by people who are from other countries. It has good mode of transport and the city never sleeps. If you go to Jersey city, Indians are in plenty. You feel like you are at home. NYC city also has lot of Indian restaurants and you can have food from all varieties. After my relocation to this city, i have been eating a lot outside. It is also not that expensive and the quality of food is good. NYC city is very expensive, life is fast, crowded and traffic is bad but i do not know, i like this city very much. May be it reminds me of my origin and may be this city will bring the best of me and will make me more strong professionally and emotionally. This city has offered me so many challenges and i am up to it. This was the city, in which airport i had landed during my first visit to US and i have loved it's aerial view. NYC is because of its people. I met also here my some old friends and also one of my old colleague, who had trained me. I used to think that he is a kind of mad guy and he has not changed a bit. But he has not changed a bit. But i was surprised, when he talked to me in my native language. He gave a good treat and told me few things, which i will remember. I have been lucky that people treat me so well and everybody has been friendly. That makes me feel that i am blessed and i thank god for that. NYC rocks during night and you should see it once to fall in love in its charm.

Baltimore Green belt

Well i miss the beauty of Baltimore in NYC for sure. I went once to a u-haul store in Baltimore. We have to drive for around 90 minutes to reach that place. On the way, i saw some places which are worth watching. It is just like you are in heaven. Long green fields with a house in them. It felt as if nature is doing painting for people to enjoy. When you see those beautiful house with greenery among them, it makes me jealous. In India, we do not have that much of land left for build house like these. Americans are lucky to have vast land and they make the best of it. The roads with trees on sides and farm lands stretching miles is a scenery to watch. I have been an admirer of natures beauty since i was a kid. I love the greenery. When i saw those farm lands, i just wanted to roll over them. Sleep and look to the blue sky and dream about having a romantic life. Sometimes places like this give your heart much needed breathe from city life. You tend to admire god's creation. My friend Rexy had told me earlier that Baltimore is a beautiful place. On that day i realized that. I felt very proud on that day that i have been associated with this city. Baltimore downtown also has a port. It looks so beautiful in night. I have spent a lot of weekends there enjoying the live music and songs. Sometimes, you wish time should stand still, so that you can keep on enjoying it. Well, now i need to move. I will miss those days in Baltimore....

dreams give vision, vision gives thoughts and thoughts lead to action

Kalam is really a visionary. No doubt about it. These words were told by him, when he was in Baltimore for a function. He has got a charm, what inspires all. He is common man's president. He is a visionary and this generation believes in him. He proved that Presidential poll is not a rubber stamp and presidents can exercise their power. He was the man behind the success of Indian Missile program. Being a bachelor has given him the extra time needed for his family. He once said, dreams give hope to humans. So dream and go for it. He is dead right. Dreams give you energy to go to the next level and make life more challenging. There is no color of dreams but they spice up your life. They give you that extra kick needed from life. People who dream always are visionaries. They believe dreams carry hopes and it gives us the extra intelligence to go for the next level of innovation. Kalam is down to earth after so many days and that makes him special. he is one of the role model for me and he always gives me hope that India will become supreme one day in Technology and Science. It will be country where Innovation will marry human values. A dream that i have carried through out my life!Hats off to you Mr Kalam, the Missile Man..!!

Gandhi Jayanti

Well nobody believed in Gandhi now a days. People think because of him India got independence later. He has slowed Indian economy with his believes. He is an outdated man with his outdated ideas. May be Gandhi never believed that everybody will follow him and his life will be put in to discussion to prove its worth. Einstein is correct when he said the future generation will not believe in Gandhi and his fellowship. No body in this new world has the courage to have patience and preach for non-violence. But Gandhi won freedom of India on it. I always believed there are something, which you can do with no violence movement. Gandhi may not be the only reason for India's freedom. He is one of the region. He is the father of nation. He sacrificed his own family and children's future for this country. So did all the freedom fighters. Due to Munna Bhai series of movies, Gandhian gained popularity. That is best example of how , Gandhi's principle can be implemented in life. Indian immigrants waiting for Green Card took one leaf from this movie and protested the Gandhian way. the result the US govt took steps to see where the policies went wrong. What else can you say as example. Gandhian has sits merits when implemented successfully. Let pray to the god to give solace to the man, who always believed in India and hoped it can give direction to the world. Hats off to Mr Gandhi.. He will be always India's father of Nation.

Cultural Diversity

One of my colleague recently said, Americans do not have any culture. Due to modern age, all countries are loosing values in their traditional culture. But i do not agree. Do not you think, the greatest gift Americans have is to embrace all cultures of world. You have so many options and freedom to choose. Nobody looks in you life and comments. you are free and due to this Independence great minds success and reach higher limit. May be it has also disadvantages. but i guess they are negligible considered to the advantages. Culture is how people treat you. How the society view you? People in America has great respect for other cultures and other people though they are by birth patriotic. Due to global changes, everything is changing. May be countries want to be like US. But the honesty and respect, people get in this country is nonparallel. It is just like the good old days of Indian history, when there was no crime. Everybody was free and there was no caste subdivision. I have seen American people coming to temple and believing in what we do. Sometimes they wore Saris and other traditional dresses to prove that they are open to changes. ISKON is proof of this. That is the beauty of American culture. It is people who are important. Once that is set in place, everything else will put in to place. I never felt any difference between India and US due to this commonality. Cultural diversity gives people much more reasons to respect and enjoy life. That is truly human bonding, friendship. United in Diversity. That is the best part of life.

Falling in Love

This sounds like a movie story. It takes courage to fall in love and luck and dedication to emerge as winner. I have seen some of the greatest love stories in my friend circle and have enjoyed their success. As i was famous in my friend circle as match maker. I always felt happiness in seeing two hears combine. that's the divine gift one can has. Sometimes i wonder, why people fall in love. Does Heart ever wins over Brain. Can everybody fall in love? I believed in Yes. I think, if you can match the right qualities and introduce people to their other half, all can enjoy this Adam's forbidden fruit. In my view, Love is a feeling, it is a fragrance. It enlightens body and mind. It gives you energy to work and kick to get your goal. It has so many forms. Love for family, work or sports, you can name them. But love also involves two most different things. Union of hearts. Does it mean, people who do arrange marriage are fools. No way, love has no definition, no boundary, no religion. It can happen to any body at any age, at any time. There is no proper timing for it. It just takes moments to that feeling sink in. I have seen some arrange marriage couple are more happier than the love marriage couples. Because it only takes love to unite hearts. Not anything else. I have seen people achieving greater heights because of this. May be it has different meaning for different people and different countries.When was a kid, you have no tension. Because everybody loves you. When you grow up, you always seek it. I am blessed with great friends, who has always made me understand how family's enjoy love and companionship. I know how much my family is important and how much they love me. It is unconditional and pure form of love. Life is so relaxing when you see so much love between family members. It gives you courage to fight against the whole world or society. But the bottom line is every living being in this world always try to get it. It is the best feeling in life and as long as it is there, life is beautiful. So friends, fall in love and enjoy life. Life is shorter with out love and nobody has the right to deny anybody from love. Go and grab this fruit and live life once more................

Rama Sethu Issue

well well well. The most controversial topic of the century. Lord Ram has been in dispute in India for quite sometime. But currently it got a new live after the statement given by Govt of India. In a desperate mood to break the Ram Sethu(Known as Adam's Bridge by NASA), govt filed affidavit saying there is no Ram. The argument given by govt was that no body can prove this bridge was built by Ram's Banar sena nor it's age has been decided. By breaking the bridge, govt will save money and time for transportation to Srilanka. Well it's a noble idea with some controversy. Environments say this bridge protests the coastal area from tsunami to have a devastating effect. this bridge is made up of corals. so another master piece for environments. then there is the mythological side that it is built by Ram. Still that point everything was under control. Then some intelligent person, suggested the govt to say there is no Ram. No body can prove it. Well sounds logically true for atheists. Not for people who has grown up by hearing "Ramayana".When i was a kid, i used to travel 5 km on foot with my younger brother and sister to go to a friend's house to watch Ramayana. That was the craze among kids. Kids still love Hanuman. May be this is a fairly princess story but do not deny the stories existence. They are icons of Hindu culture. We always take pride in our heritage,culture. Do not stop doing that. History can not prove it. Well if you go by proof for everything there is no way somebody can prove what love means. As a child, i have been grown up hearing the stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata and suddenly they say all is rubbish. No religion can prove how the history of origination of their god. For me i believe it is more of a belief than anything else. Always science and mythology collide. But science can not prove anything. There is nature's force and no body has till now able to decode it's secret. Nobody can prove whether Ram was there or not. Does human minds always need proof to believe in something? I leave it on people of India to decide, whether Ram was there or not. Nobody has the answer. Time can never prove it. Issues like this makes the Hindu fundamentals in India much stronger. These topics are never ever good for any country. Let it lie down at the bottom of pacific ocean. why to create issues like this to disturb peace and gain political advantage. People from all over the world have heard Ramayana and it is master piece. If Ram is there, he lies in the hearts of his devotees and they do not need a proof to show his existence. It's all in the believe. Now no body knows whether Ram Sethu will be broken or not. By creating euphoria on unnecessary issues, India will not gain anything. Let Ram leave peacefully with his devotees. India still did not able to proof Netaji's murder and sometimes some issues remain as mystery. May be that is the law of nature. Science should try to eradicate blind beliefs from people not try to rewrite mythology. If in English movies and science fiction stories, everything is possible, then why can't be mythology. After all it is the form by which human beings worship the almighty. Let Ram leave with his family and let India march forward at every front. Hindu culture claims itself to be the oldest, let it be the oldest and most enjoyable culture in World. Because there is no definition of this religion. Let it remain the way it is by adding more people and more ideas, where all are equal. That is truly what the culture and heritage of India has been. Bolo Siyaraam ki Jaya..Pavan putra Hanuman ki Jaya. I can only end this by these statements, which i believe is true as my heart says. Ram sethu issue should be put to rest till the court decides and everybody agrees on it.

Finally a Temple

Last week i had a chance to go to Shiva and Vishnu temple which is around 30 miles from Baltimore. It was a huge Temple with all the goddess and god present. There was also huge crowd.
There were also different Indian food items. Sometimes going to temple gives me peace. Although i rarely goes to temple. Because i believe god is where you worship and have devotion. For some Work is god and for some people like me, God needs to be presented in a statue. It all depends on believes. I really fell great as i saw lord Hanuman statue in that temple. It makes me remember my old college and school days. When my friends and me will flock together to near by Hanuman temple and enjoy there for sometime. Those days are gone now. Everybody is busy and normally every face looks like a stranger. There were also some cultural function going on and they were singing songs from all languages. Sometimes it reminds you of diversity back in India. I enjoyed my little stay at temple and felt good. Now i have some memories to enjoy.
